(Seguin) – Seguin is inviting you to help usher in the 2023 Holiday Season. Today is the deadline to enter this year’s Lighted Holiday Stroll Parade in downtown Seguin. The parade is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30.
Lindsay Hajek of the Seguin Parks and Recreation Department says the city is anticipating another successful holiday parade.
“Currently, we have 80 entries and last year, we were looking at right about 100 so we are doing pretty good to be on par for last year,” said Hajek.
Anyone wishing to join in on the holiday fun is invited to participate. Plus, she says there is no cost to enter.
“So, businesses, individuals, schools, bands — any type of organization that would like to represent their group can sign up for the parade. We do have two categories for the parade, so it is a competition. There is the commercial and the non-commercial category. So, we will have a first, second and third place for both categories,” said Hajek.
The only requirement, however, is holiday lighting. Hajek says lighting is a must.
“You have to have lights definitely. It is a lighted parade, so we like to see of course that beautiful sparkle that makes us think of the Christmas season so the more lights, the better. That’s definitely part of it,” said Hajek.
