(Seguin) — Seguin ISD welcomes three recent hires to its leadership team.
The first is Dr. Sam Hogue who comes from Fabens ISD in El Paso. Dr. Hogue is serving as the interim deputy superintendent. Dr. Hogue is filling the position of Dr. Veronica Vijil, who is currently serving as the Seguin ISD interim superintendent.
She says Dr. Hogue has many strengths and brings a wealth of knowledge to this role.
“He has previously served as a principal on multiple high school campuses. I am grateful for his willingness to join us on an interim basis,” said Vijil.
Second is Joel Treviño who has accepted the position of chief of Human Resources. TTrevino replaces former HR Director Cindy Moreno who resigned in late September.
Vijil says Trevino also brings a wealth of experience from the North East ISD in San Antonio.
“We are truly fortunate to have him on board permanently. He is creating systems, connecting with other departments, and visiting with campus administrators,” said Vijil.
Rounding out the list of three is Jill Nash. Nash in October was appointed as the district’s new director of community engagement. She will also serve as the executive director of the Seguin Education Foundation. Vijil says as a longtime employee of First Commercial Bank and as a school volunteer, she has been very active in the Seguin community.
“Mrs. Nash already has a large network of contacts throughout the community. Her skills will prove beneficial to help nurture relationships with the business community and also continue the momentum of SEF,” said Vijil.
Nash replaces former SEF Executive Director Kelly Follis.
