Clara Sue Brush, age 80 of Seguin, passed away on October 26, 2023. Sue was born on November 12, 1942, in Hutchison, Kansas to Leota (Bowen) and Willoughby Blackard.
Sue retired from GBRA after 23 years of service. She enjoyed her membership in the Zonta Club and playing Mahjong with her girlfriends. Sue will be remembered as an incredible party planner, holiday coordinator, and grandkid babysitter, always making family times special and memorable.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Hailey Baker, sister Carol Pearce, and her husband Shairyl.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Brush; daughters, Debra Dumas and husband Nathan, Stacey Dicke, and husband Kyle, and Shelley Baker and husband Charles; grandchildren who knew and loved her as “Grandma”, Sophie Dumas, Tyler Laird, Madison Reynolds and husband Matt, Ashton Dicke, Grant Dicke, Cody Brush, Emily Baker, and Kayla Baker; great-grandchildren who knew and loved her as “GG”, Ben Brush, Harrison Brush, Kate Brush, and Hudson Reynolds. Numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Sue’s life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
