(Bandera) — Ethan Luu finished in 1st place overall at the District 27-4A cross country meet in Bandera on Thursday with a time of 15:42.959 in the 5000 meter race and will be advancing to the Region IV Championship. The victory for Luu was his second this season. The junior also won gold at the San Marcos Runnin’ Rattler Invitational on September 9th.
Other notable finishers for the Panthers were seniors Carlos Garza (17:18.459**) and Gabe Rangel (18:48.921) who finished in 17th and 33rd places, respectively. And freshman Robert Leal (19:16.939**) finished in 39th place.
The Varsity girls finished in 3rd place as a team and will also be advancing to the regional meet. The girls team was lead by Lilia Flo (11:56.629**) who finished in 8th place in the 3200 meter race. Madi Gilliam (12:27.591**) finished in 17th place, Linlee Sturm (12:38.512) in 19th place, Lizzie Hagan (12:44,283) in 21st place, Serenity Reyes (14:00.864**) in 44th place, and Elisabeth Conley (15:22.374**) in 48th place.

The UIL Class 4A Region IV Championship will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. The varsity girls race will start at 11:00 a.m. The varsity boys will start their race at 11:30 a.m.
