Doors open to new Church’s Texas Chicken

Doors open to new Church's Texas Chicken

(Seguin) – Folks are happy to see that the bulldozing they saw just a few months ago has resulted in the opening of a brand-new Church’s Chicken. The new building is a whole new look for the Court and Guadalupe Street intersection and reflects the company’s new name, “Church’s Texas Chicken.”

Company President and Franchisee Mike Collins assures families that the name is just part of a rebranding effort and does not bring any changes to the quality of its food.

After operating the restaurant for several years, Collins says the company finally received the opportunity to build a new building at its current site.

“We love the community here. Obviously, Church’s started in San Antonio back in the 50s and we wanted to stay in your community, but we knew that our old building wasn’t really up to par or up to standards. So, what we were able to do actually was purchase the property from the previous owners and then we were able to brand a whole new building so we could serve the community a lot better. Obviously, it’s a lot bigger, a lot more seating in the dining room but mainly just wanted to continue to be involved in the San Antonio area and the suburbs – serving Church’s food that everybody remembers from when they were kids,” said Collins.

Collins says not only was a rebuild financially more feasible, but it renewed a much-loved staple to the local community.

“When you create a building like this even after you buy the property, you are looking at a multi-million-dollar investment to get it to this point up and running and we were willing to do that based on you as the community and all the support that we have within the community for sales. Again, wanted to refresh the older image that we had,” said Collins. “I’m just very appreciative. We have the same general manager back here that has been here for years so if you are used to seeing her, come back in and see her. We have some of the same crew. We have the same upper management staff. We want to serve you. We want everybody to be happy and we are super excited just to be back open now and we are going to be here for another 20 years. So, I look forward to you coming in and visiting and getting excellent customer service.”

Sandra Garcia, zone director for the restaurant chain, says when customers stop by, they’ll notice that a lot of their leadership team will be working alongside their great staff. Garcia says the company is proud of this new location and is ready to show it off.

“This is amazing. It’s beautiful. Come check it out. This is like the Cadillac of our Church’s completely different than from what you are used to seeing. These are our new colors and our new Church’s here. We are looking forward to being back and ready to serve the city of Seguin,” said Garcia.

Church’s hours in Seguin are Sundays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant is located at 404 W. Court St.
