National Night Out set for October - Today marks registration deadline with Seguin PD

(Seguin) – Neighborhoods have exactly one week before this year’s National Night Out. The national fight against crime is Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The Seguin Police Department has opened its registration for neighborhoods planning a party and who would like to request a special visit from an officer or fire fighter. The deadline to register streets or neighborhoods wishing to host a block party is 5 p.m. today. Registration should be completed by the individual planning the event for their neighborhood. Again, registration is only if they wish to have city of Seguin emergency personnel in attendance.

The police department requires only one registration per event. Online registration is available at seguintexas.gov. Individuals with specific questions may also call 830-865-6409.

Meanwhile, plans are also underway for neighborhoods in Guadalupe County.

Planning its 10th annual National Night Out next Tuesday is the area of FM 1044 right at the dividing line of Pct. 1 and Pct. 4. The party hosted by Jackie and Charlene Nolte is better known as “Party by the Barn at Creekbottom Farm.” The farm is located at 4907 FM 1044. Those wishing to help plan are asked to call or text 830-629-1000 or email creekbottomfarm@hotmail.com.

Neighbors will also be invited out next Tuesday, Oct. 3 to the Marshall Home for its National Night Out Celebration from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Both county officials and the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand.

Additional information on these events is available in the Community Calendar section of today’s online edition of the Seguin Daily News. The SDN is available at SeguinToday.com.
