(Seguin) — It’s Hall of Honor night at Matador Stadium as the Seguin Matadors welcome the Laredo United Longhorns to town this evening.
The Mats are still looking for their first win on the young season after falling to Alamo Heights and New Braunfels in the first two weeks. The Longhorns are 1-1 on the season. They beat San Antonio Marshall 34-7 last Thursday and fell to San Antonio Warren 34-14 in week one.
Running back John Jackson leads the Matador offensive attack. He’s had over 200 yards rushing in each of the first two games. Quarterback Corey Dailey has thrown for 433 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions so far this season. Dailey had four touchdown passes in last year’s match-up with United, a 40-29 win for Seguin down in Laredo.
Former Matador student-athletes Alex Bothe and Kelly Lamb will inducted into the Seguin ISD Athletic Hall of Honor before kickoff tonight. Bothe and Kelly both graduated in 2010 and starred for the Seguin volleyball and softball teams.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Matador Stadium. You’ll hear all the action on KWED.
