(Seguin) — A 36-year old man was shot and killed in an incident early Saturday morning in Seguin. The Seguin Police Department released details on Saturday at the shooting, which occurred at 2:11 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North River Street in downtown Seguin.
Detectives say officers were called out to the scene and arrived to find a male victim with a gunshot would. They say emergency official attempted lifesaving measures, but the man succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead on-scene by Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Sheryl Sachtleben. The victim was later identified as 36-year old Adrian Barbosa, of New Braunels.
The investigation led police to a suspect in the shooting. The suspect was identified as 24-year old Isaac Mesa Jr., of New Braunfels. He was taken into custody by deputies from the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office. Issac was transported and booked into the Guadalupe County Jail on a murder charge.
The case remains under investigation by the Seguin Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
