(Lake Dunlap) — The refilling of Lake Dunlap starts this week, four years after a dam partially collapsed.
The Lake Dunlap Water Control & Improvement District, or WCID, says the lake will be refilled starting around 3 p.m. Thursday.
It’s expected to take more than two months for the lake to be completely refilled.
A spillgate at the dam collapsed in May 2019, dropping the water level in the lake nearly seven feet before the day was over.
Repairs and upgrades to the dam cost approximately 35-million dollars.
