(Seguin) — Seguin Fire Units remain on the scene of a large barn fire off Auxiliary Airport Road on the city’s east side. The fire began around 5 p.m. Monday. In fact, Assistant Fire Chief Garrick Herbert says they have no choice but to sit and wait until the fire burns down to a manageable level. He says round bales are difficult to extinguish. City officials say residents in that area can expect to smell an odor of burning hay bales over the next several hours or even days. No word yet as to what caused the fire.
