Ouida Quita Gravett


Ouida Quita Gravett, age 89 of Round Rock, formerly of New Braunfels and Orange passed away on August 2, 2023.  Quita was born on August 17, 1933, in Edom, Texas to parents Murphy & Ruthie King.

She moved to Orange TX and lived there for 68 years graduating from Stark High School in 1951.  She was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was an active member of United Methodist Women’s Ministries. She worked for Don Dunaway Insurance Agency for 30 years.  

After moving to the Austin area, she joined First Baptist Church of Round Rock and was a member of WOW. She then moved to the Ranch Senior Community in Cedar Park. She loved living there and made lots of new friends and enjoyed church services and Bible study.

Her children and family were the light of her life. She was a huge San Antonio Spurs fan and she always loved to dance. She was also an avid reader.

Quita is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Donald L. Gravett and Horace Strange, son Keith Gravett, brother, Lindley King; sister, Carolyn Kerrigan, and husband Bob, and granddaughter, Kasondra Pipkin.

Survivors include her son, Terrell Gravett, and wife Kendy; daughter, Shanon Robnett, and husband Nathan; daughter-in-law, Rayma Gravett; grandchildren, Brendan Gravett and Justin Gant, Britney Gravett and Marcel Garrett, Kevin Robnett and wife Leslie, Brandy Robnett, Carla Jankowski and husband Andy, and Andrew Tingstrom, J.T. Tingstrom and wife Maisie, and Jeff Pipkin; sister-in-law, Linda King; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service celebrating Quita’s life will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Round Rock with the Rev. Austin Young officiating.    Private interment will be held at a later date.
