Freedom Fiesta announces food menu


Plans in place for Saturday night celebration

(Seguin) – You are reminded to come hungry to this year’s Freedom Fiesta.

That’s because taste buds will be treated to all their favorite foods during the annual food truck style Fourth of July celebration.

Not only will there be 9 food trucks, but five local non-profit food vendors and two for profit food vendors will also be a part of Saturday night’s festivities in downtown Seguin.

The menu board this year includes a fleet of trucks. They include Grouchy Mama’s known for its gourmet cheeseburgers and Cubano sandwiches served with pasta salad, fries, or chips.

The Whacked Out Weiner will be serving a variety of hot dogs, nachos and Frito pie.

Chick-Fil-A will also be on site with its original sandwich, spicy sandwiches, nuggets, chips, cookies, brownies, and grilled wraps.

Wiggle Waggle will also help cool folks off with its shaved ice, watermelon slices, floats, smoothies and mangonadas.

Dilly Deli will also join this year’s celebration with its cheese steaks, club sandwiches, BLT sandwiches, Italian sandwiches, potato salad and chips.

Any ‘Wich Way will host a series of food to include Beignet bites, bread pudding, cheesecake eggrolls, Elvis club, s’mores ‘wich, and chicory coffee.

Folks are also expected to gravitate to Mister Softee for ice cream cones, sundaes, floats, shakes, swirls, paletas, malts, ice pops, banaa boats and ice cream sandwiches.

Donna Kika’s Tacos will also make its debut featuring its chalupas, gorditas, quesadillas and tortas.

Couples Catering will also be rolling up featuring its chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, ranch hand tots, carne asada, fries, street tacos, pork chop on a stick, sausage on a stick and mozzarella sticks.

Taste buds will also sure dig Sweet Rentals. Sweet Rentals will feature kettle corn, ribbon fries, chicken on a stick and corn dogs.

Joining in on the fun will be several non-profit organizations.

On the list is Catholic Daughters of the Americas with funnel cakes. Seguin Youth Sports League – Seguin Matadors will also be grilling up chicken fajitas.

A pair of churches will also be participating as food vendors. They include Straight Street Church with burritos and lemonade and Victory Christian Center with its pulled pork loaded potatoes.

Helping to wash things down will be the Seguin Chapter 555 Order of the Eastern Star with sodas and water, Las Delicias Aguas with a variety of Aquas Frescas, and the Columbus Club of Seguin or KC’s who will be returning to host this year’s beer garden.

Kicking off this year’s Freedom Fiesta at 6 p.m. will be the annual Kiddie Parade around Central Park.

The event will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday in downtown Seguin. Freedom Fiesta is free.
