SEGUIN, Texas – Texas Lutheran University placed 83 student-athletes on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Student-Athlete Spring Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced Wednesday.
A total of 657 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference. Since its inception in the fall of 1997, almost 34,000 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.
Texas Lutheran baseball, softball and men’s and women’s track and field each tallied double-digit honorees with baseball leading the way with 18 honorees. Texas Lutheran men’s golf finished with six honorees, women’s tennis added five honorees while women’s golf and men’s tennis round out the Texas Lutheran honorees with four honorees each.
TLU had 28 SCAC All-Conference honorees from 2023 that also picked up Academic Honor Roll recognition this year. SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Year Ashlyn Strother, CSC Academic All-American Sydney Ouellette, SCAC Baseball Player of the Year Tyler Post, and SCAC Men’s Track and Field Field Athlete of the Year Gerrit Twitero headline the illustrious group that was named to the Academic Honor Roll and SCAC All-Conference teams.
In total, Texas Lutheran had 139 student-athletes earn SCAC Academic Honor Roll between the fall, winter and spring 2022-23 seasons.
