(Seguin) — Get ready to hear the sweet sounds of jazz music in Downtown Seguin. On Sunday, June 11th, the Dirty River Jazz Band returns to Seguin to perform in Central Park at 7:00 p.m. as part of Seguin Main Street’s Central Park Summer Concert Series.
Originally from Seguin, the first band members met at Texas Lutheran University where they studied music. Their very first performance was, you guessed it, in the gazebo in Central Park! Since their beginning, they have gone on to perform all across the United States at swing dance events, weddings, corporate events and more!
Managed by Drummer, Vocalist, and Arranger Chris Alvarado, the Dirty River Jazz Band’s sound closely emulates the Jim Cullum Jazz Band who served as their mentor. With most of their band members from the area, they are excited to return to their birthplace and put on a show to remember!
Mark your calendar to attend each performance on Sunday evenings continuing with Groove Factor on June 18 and Natalie Rose on June 25. The final concert on July 2 will feature the San Antonio Symphonic Band playing a variety of patriotic, classical, and big band music.
Chicken Salad sandwiches, smoothies, shaved ice, mangonadas, ice cream, and floats will be sold by Wiggle Waggle. The concerts will be on Sundays starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. These family-friendly concerts are free and offer something for almost every musical taste. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back, relax, and enjoy!
