(Austin) — The UIL Softball State Tournament will determine its state champions on Saturday. One of those competing for a state championship will be a very familiar foe to Seguin High School.
The New Braunfels Canyon Cougarettes advanced to the Class 5A state finals following a 2-0 victory Friday over Colleyville Heritage. The Cougarettes, who are a perfect 31-0 on the season, will play Montgomery Lake Creek for the championship. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m. today at Red and Charline McCombs Field at the University of Texas at Austin.
Today’s championship schedule starts at 10 a.m. today in Austin with Liberty and Corpus Christi Calallen vying for the 4A crown; and the Class 6A championship between Pearland and Denton Guyer will be played at 4 p.m. today in Austin.
