Seguin senior Ashlie Aguilar (#8)

(New Braunfels) — Tonight, the Seguin Matador baseball team will play their second game this week against New Braunfels Canyon. The Cougars took game one 11-0 at Smokey Joe Williams Field on Tuesday. Tonight’s game between the Mats and Cougars starts at 7 O’clock at Canyon High School.

(Seguin) — The Lady Matador Softball team is in the playoffs and they will wrap their regular season tonight at Seguin High School against Boerne-Champion.

The Lady Matadors are in 3rd place in District 26-5A. As it stands right now, they would face the Hays Lady Hawks in the Bi-District round next week.

Boerne-Champion is in a tie with Veterans Memorial for the district’s fourth and final playoff spot and are needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

“They’re gonna be fighting for their lives. We’re in a situation where honestly win or lose, we’re still in the playoffs.” Seguin head softball coach John Garcia said. “So we gotta make sure our mindset is not one that’s relaxed, not one that we’re just gonna show up because we have to but play the game. Make it have meaning and have something good going into the playoffs.”

Tonight’s game will also be the final regular season home game for Seguin seniors Ashlie Aguilar and Ryan Rangel.

You hear tonight’s game on KWED. We’ll have more with coach Garcia during our Lady Matador pregame show starting at 6:45 with first pitch between the Lady Mats and Lady Chargers at 7 tonight on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Cuero) — The Navarro Panther baseball team will be looking for another win over rival Cuero when they meet the Gobblers tonight.

It’s senior night in Geronimo tonight. First pitch between the Lady Gobblers and Lady Panthers takes place at 7 tonight at Navarro High School.
