(McQueeney) — The shoreline at Lake Breeze Ski Lodge in McQueeney makes for a pretty good time, but anyone who actually hangs out there knows the best time is out on the water. Seguin Today, KWED’s monthly magazine, recently joined Jimmie Price on his boat before watching the final Ski Bees performance. The specially scheduled performance was held just days before the lake was to be drained for dam repairs.
Price shared tidbits about life on the water starting with rule 1 which is no shoes on the boat. Those tidbits were all shared while speeding around the lake during a tour of the lakefront properties that will all be dramatically impacted when the lake waters goes down.
Repairs to the dam are expected to take between 2 to 3 years, so lake residents have a long road ahead of them.
Once the Ski Bee show started, Price gave Seguin Today a first-hand experience of being out on the water while helping encourage downed skiers, returning them to shore.
The Ski Bees show included big air jumps, twists and spins on swivel skis and more before rounding it all out with a three tiered pyramid that buzzed around the lake as the sun went down.
Also in this issue, Seguin Today visited the Beeswax Department at the Gretchen Bee Ranch where Thién Gretchen shared her passion for beekeeping and crafting with their wax.
This month’s experiences can be found in the April edition of Seguin Today. Copies are now available at various locations around town including in the lobby of KWED and the Seguin Daily News. The radio station is located at 609 E. Court. St.
