Seguin Matadors Win First District Game On Saturday

(Jourdanton) — The Seguin Matador baseball team got their first District 26-5A win of the season on Saturday taking down San Antonio Wagner 5-2 down in Jourdanton.

Tim Belicek scored a pair of runs and he also tossed a couple of innings on the mound in picking up the victory. Creed Weaver earned the save in the bottom of the 7th striking out two in retiring all three batters he faced.

The Mats will be at San Antonio Veterans Memorial on Tuesday.

(La Vernia) — The Navarro Panthers will play a make-up game at La Vernia today. The Panthers and Bears game on Thursday was rained out.

Both teams are 2-1 and tied for 2nd place in District 28-4A. Navarro shutout La Vernia 7-0 one week ago behind a one-hitter from Bryce Nall.

First pitch between the Bears and Panthers is set for 5 O’clock today at La Vernia High School.

(San Antonio) — The Marion baseball team also has a make-up game today. The Bulldogs will take on San Antonio Cole on the road.

The Bulldogs went 5-0 through the first round of District 26-3A play. First pitch between the Bulldogs and Cougars is set for 4 p.m. this afternoon at Cole High School.

(San Antonio) — And the Marion softball game against Cole that was rained out last week has also been pushed to today. The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Cougars will play at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon at Cole High School.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Nixon-Smiley on Tuesday and we’ll have that game for you on KWED. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday night in Marion.
