Marion's Owen Schoenvogel Fires No-Hitter and Navarro's Bryce Nall Tosses One-Hitter on Monday Night

(Marion) — Marion’s Owen Schoenvogel tossed a no-hitter in a 10-0 win for the Marion Bulldogs over Randolph on Monday night at Marion High School.

The senior struck out seven, walked only two and also had a big night at the plate to lead the Bulldogs, who are now unbeaten in five District 26-3A games this season. In addition to firing a no-no, Schoenvogel went 2 for 3 with a triple, walk and two RBI in four plate appearances on the evening.

Chase Hallmark, who competed for the Marion track team at the Texas Relays in Austin over the weekend, had two stolen bases and scored a pair of runs. Jaxon Garner also had two stolen bases and two runs scored for the Bulldogs.

With the win, Marion moves their record to 5-0 at the halfway point in the district season. The Bulldogs will next host San Antonio Cole on Thursday night.

(Geronimo) — Navarro’s Bryce Nall fired a one-hitter as the Panthers beat La Vernia 7-0 on Monday night in Geronimo.

Nall struck out six and only walked one. The senior also drove in two runs as he went 1 for 2 with a walk at the plate with a run scored. Landun Taylor and Marco Moncada scored a pair of runs for the Panthers.

Navarro is 2-1 in District 28-4A play and will play at La Vernia on Thursday night.

(Cuero) — And the Navarro Lady Panther softball team crushed Cuero 15-3 Monday night in Cuero.

Kaselynn Tovar drove in four runs as she smacked two doubles on the night. Samantha Mundine went yard and also had a double while driving in three runs. Samantha Wegman got the complete game victory in the circle.

Navarro is 3-0 in district and 18-9 overall on the season. The Lady Panthers host San Antonio Memorial on Thursday.
