(Geronimo) — We have softball on KWED tonight as the Navarro Lady Panthers host District 28-4A rival Gonzales.
The Lady Panthers come into tonight’s match-up 2-0 in district play. Navarro blasted San Antonio Memorial 20-5 one week ago and they beat San Antonio Kennedy in a 19-13 slugfest this past Friday. The Lady Apaches are 1-1 in district play falling to La Vernia 8-7 and trouncing Memorial 11-1 last week.
“We’re going to focus on doing what we do at the plate, being patient, being selective and waiting for our pitch.” Navarro head coach Morgan Cavazos said. “They have pretty good defense and so hopefully we can put pressure on them, make them throw the ball around.”
We will have tonight’s game on the air on KWED. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. with our Lady Panther pregame starting at around 5:45 this evening on AM 1580 and streaming online at SeguinToday.com.
In other games on the softball diamond tonight:
(Boerne) — The Seguin Lady Matadors and Boerne-Champion Lady Chargers will meet in Boerne tonight. Both teams are tied for 3rd place in District 26-5A with Kerrville-Tivy and San Antonio Veterans Memorial. All four teams are 3-3 in district play. First pitch between the Lady Mats and Lady Chargers takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at Boerne-Champion High School.
(Marion) — And the Marion Lady Bulldogs host Luling tonight. First pitch between the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Eagles is set for 7 O’clock.
(Marion) — The Marion baseball team will also host Luling tonight at Marion High School. The Bulldogs and Eagles will get together on the baseball diamond at 7 p.m.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Matadors host Kerrville-Tivy at Smokey Joe Williams Field. First pitch between the Antlers and Mats is at 7 p.m.
(Gonzales) — And the Navarro baseball team is in Gonzales tonight to battle the Apaches. That game will also start at 7 p.m.
