(Seguin) — Professional ballet folklorico dancing comes to the stage this weekend at Seguin High School’s Performing Arts Center.
Sean Hoffmann, the chief communications officer for the Seguin ISD, says the school district is excited about welcoming Ballet Nepantla Valentina, a New York City based company.
“We are hosting Ballet Nepantla which is a dance troupe that fuses Ballet Folklorico and contemporary dance. Ballet Nepantla will be coming to Seguin High School’s Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 5. Showtime is a matinee of 2 p.m. and the seats are only $5 for general seating basically a donation towards the program,” said Hoffmann.
Hoffmann says the performance is only a reflection of the growing and award winning ballet folklorico and mariachi programs at SHS. He says the dance company will even be offering a master class to high school students as a part of their performance.
“We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for our families and our students. Our ballet folklorico students will be performing and opening the show specifically Grupo Folklorico De Seguin High School. We are excited to have that opportunity for our students to open a show for a professional dance troupe so it’s going to be an exciting afternoon. There will be a Q & A following the performance,” said Hoffmann.
The performance gets underway at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at https://pulse.ly/.fl1w8a0s51. The link is also available on the Seguin ISD Facebook page.
