Jacob’s Ladder tournament plus BBQ fundraiser set for Saturday
(Seguin) — The Seguin community is invited to bring their cornhole teams and appetites to the Big Red Barn this weekend.
The Jacob’s Ladder Foundation will host a Cornhole tournament and BBQ brisket plate sale. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the foundation supporting children with cancer and their families.
The mission of the group includes providing care packages during those extended hospital stays, providing fun social activities throughout the year for those receiving chemo treatments, the purchase of Legos and blankets for patients, and financial assistance for those families who oftentimes face a financial burden when their child is diagnosed with cancer.
The registered 501(c) 3 non-profit foundation is named in memory of Jacob Ceniseros, who died in 2015 after a three-year battle with Leukemia. Thanks to Jacob’s parents Oscar and Sandra, the foundation has grown over the years and has helped stand alongside patients and families during these difficult times.
Cost for the tournament is $40 for each two-person team. The tourney gets underway at noon Saturday at the Big Red Barn. The foundation will also be selling brisket and sausage plates with all the trimmings. The cost is $12 a plate.
DJ Curt and Mark McConkey will also provide music entertainment.
