VIDEO: Navarro's Tatum Harborth Passes 2000 Career Points in Win and Other Area High School Basketball Results

The Navarro Lady Panthers celebrate senior Tatum Harborth reaching the 2000-point plateau in her career on January 10, 2023.

(Wimberley) — Navarro senior Tatum Harborth passed 2000 points in her Lady Panther career as Navarro scored the last 15 points of the game in a come from behind 50-44 road win over Wimberley on Tuesday night.

Harborth reached the 2000 mark three minutes into the game in the same gym where her father, Navarro head coach Darrell Harborth, got his 500th career win a little over two years ago. Tatum also scored her 500th point in that game on November 7th, 2020.

As for Tuesday’s game, the Lady Panthers trailed 44-35 early in the 4th quarter but shut out the Lady Texans the rest of the way to get the six-point win. Harborth hit a three-pointer with about 2 and a half minutes left to put the Lady Panthers up for good at 45-44.

Harborth finished the game with 22 points. Her younger sister Tegan added 11. Navarro improved to 4-2 in District 27-4A and will be off until next Tuesday when they play at Canyon Lake.

(Geronimo) — Back in Geronimo, the Navarro Panther boys team fell to 0-4 in district with an 82-70 loss to Wimberley. The Panthers will host Canyon Lake next Tuesday in search of their first district win of the season.

(New Braunfels) — The Seguin Matador boys won their first District 26-5A game on Tuesday night, taking down New Braunfels Canyon 67-60. The Mats built a 14-point halftime lead and held on to the lead in the 2nd half to improve their district record to 1-3.

Junior John Jackson had 24 points to pace Seguin. Senior Kevon Williams poured in 13 and junior Alex Ramirez added 11.

Seguin hosts Boerne Champion on Friday night. We’ll have that game here on KWED. The Mats and Chargers tip at 6:30 p.m. Our Matador pregame show starts at 6:20 p.m. from Goldie Harris Gym Friday night on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Seguin) — The Lady Matadors came up short against the Cougarettes in front of a raucous crowd at Seguin High School Tuesday night, falling 39-36 to Canyon. The Lady Mats were led by junior forward Jazmine Missildine, who scored 14 points. Seguin fell to 1-5 in district and will hit the road to Boerne to take on Champion Friday night.

(Marion) — In Marion Tuesday night, the Marion boys could not get the shots to fall in a 49-23 loss to District 26-3A foe San Antonio Cole. The Cougars’ stifling defense limited the Bulldogs to just seven made shots during the game. The win for Cole was their 8th straight over Marion.

The Bulldogs were led by junior Richard Rayos who had eight points. Senior Dominic Castellanos and junior Walker Lindeman had five points a piece. Junior Aiden Batey pulled down nine rebounds for Marion.

“We’ve got to have everybody contribute night in and night out. I thought Walker played good tonight and Batey on the boards for us did a great job.” Marion head coach Jon Miller said. “We just got to find ways to create some more easy shots for our guys to get open but against a team as athletic and as talented as Cole, it was tough tonight.”

The Bulldogs fell to 1-2 in district and will travel to Luling on Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs also fell to Cole in Marion on Tuesday, dropping a 37-23 decision. Senior Signe Rabenaldt had six points to lead Marion. Fellow seniors Laney Osborne and Sarah Cook add five points each for the Lady Bulldogs.

The Marion girls fell to 3-1 in district and will be in Luling along with the boys team on Friday.

Runnin’ Lady Panther Basketball Senior Tatum Harborth goes over 2000 points in her career and cans a late three pointer to lead Navarro to a 50-44 come from behind victory in Wimberley tonight!
