SUWANEE Ga. — The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its 15th annual fall All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 41 student-athletes, including five Texas Lutheran student-athletes, were selected to the 2022 squad in the sports of men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball.
Since the inaugural All-Sportsmanship teams were honored in the fall of 2008, the SCAC has recognized almost 2,000 student-athletes who each, in his or her own way, has displayed the league’s core belief in the value of honorable conduct.
For this year’s selections, each conference head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season.
The following Texas Lutheran student-athletes were chosen as the best representative for their respective teams:
Men’s Cross Country – Koby Green, Sr. (San Antonio/Clark)
Women’s Cross Country – Caeli Taylor, Jr. (Tilden/McMullen County)
Men’s Soccer – Gavin Edwards, So. (Missouri City/Ridge Point)
Women’s Soccer – Elena Rivera, Sr. (New Braunfels/Canyon)
Volleyball – Celie Contreras, Sr. (San Marcos/San Marcos)
Taylor was a NCAA Regional Qualifier in cross country while Celie Contreras earned SCAC All-Sportsmanship honors for the second consecutive season following a 2022 fall season that saw her be a key member of the 2022 SCAC Championship team.
