(Seguin) — The new year has arrived, and it’s time to start thinking about those businesses and individuals who made an impact on our lives over the previous 12 months. The nomination period for radio station KWED’s Top Choice Awards is now officially open. Nominations for dozens of categories can now be submitted. The list of categories includes everything from Top Hamburger to Top Home Builder to Top Event. .
KWED General Manager Darren Dunn says there’s a good chance there’s a category for just about every business and service within Seguin and Guadalupe County.
“Top Choice is based on direct input from our listeners. We try to organically give them the opportunity to tell us who they think is doing a great job here in the community. Right now, we want people to nominate businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals for our annual KWED Top Choice awards. The nominating period will help us put together the final ballot, which will also be shared with our listeners, who will then make their final selections for the 2022-23 awards,” said Dunn.
Once the Top Choice winners are choosen later this year, Dunn says there will again be a special publication recognizing all of the winners and nominees in each category. He says that will happen later, but right now people need to go online and submit their nominations.
“We don’t need to sway anyone’s opinion, you know who you like doing business with, and we trust that you’ll be able to share that with us during this nominating process. It’s exciting to see how many people take the time to fill out the online form, and to make sure they recognize their top choices across a number of categories. It’s fun for the listeners, and I know the businesses enjoy getting this positive feedback,” said Dunn.
