Several Navarro Panthers Recognized on All-District 13-4A Football Teams

(Geronimo) — 23 Navarro Panthers were honored on the All-District 13-4A football teams.

Named First Team All-District were junior running back Antwan Mebane, senior running back Colton Chambers and junior guard Mack Berry on offense.

On defense, Panther First Team selections were senior defensive end Beau Brumley, junior defensive end Landun Taylor, junior inside linebacker Hayden Toliver and junior outside linebacker Nicholas Schwarzlose.

On the District 13-4A Defensive Second Team were junior linebacker Gabriel Rangel, junior defensive back Diego Chapa, senior defensive back Bryce Nall, junior linebacker Jacob Arias and junior lineman Matthew Richardson.

The Second Team All-District Offensive selections were tight end Brumley, senior lineman Paxton Santone and lineman Richardson.

All-District Honorable Mentions on offense for the Panthers included senior receiver Landry Blackburn, quarterback Nall, running back Chapa and senior Owen Gonzalez on the offensive line.

On defense and special teams, Honorable Mentions were junior kicker Sam Sneed and defensive lineman Jaden Gomez. Blackburn was selected for his play at defensive back and special teams.

Navarro freshman Kohen Blount was recognized as the District 13-4A Newcomer of the Year.

Recognized on the Academic All-District Team were Caleb Hagan, Case Monroe, Houston Berry, Xavier Cropper, Knox Gallini, Treagen Jaynes, Colton Schuelke, Kaden Guerra, Craig Heiman, Kade Pugh, Walker Dietze, Matthew Holmes, Blount, Schwarzlose, Taylor, Richardson, Berry, Chapa, Blackburn, Brumley, Chambers, Gomez, Nall, Rangel, Santone, Toliver and Arias.

The Panthers were lead by head coach Rod Blount and advanced to the UIL Region IV Semifinals this past season. Navarro has reached the semi’s in each of Blount’s five years at the helm.
