(Marion) – Marion Bulldog senior Dominic Castellanos was named District 13-3A Utility Player of the Year and junior running back/quarterback Bo Stahl was selected as the district’s Newcomer of the Year to lead the All-District honorees for Marion.
Stahl had 1,144 yards rushing with 11 touchdowns and threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs in the 2022 season while Castellanos had 1,232 all purpose yards to go along with 15 overall touchdowns to lead the Marion offense.
Joining offensive stars Stahl and Castellanos as All-District First team offense members are senior lineman Owen Schoenvogel, sophomore lineman Garrett Mann and junior utility player Jaxon Garner, who was a unanimous selection.
Gaining recognition on the All-District Second Team offense are senior quarterback Dillon Sanchez, senior tight end Kade Murdoch, junior receiver Chase Hallmark, junior center Kase Kelso and junior lineman Justin Dehoyos.
Senior linebacker Kross Kelso was named as a unanimous First Team defensive selection despite missing the first half of the season due to injury. Kelso is joined on the First Team by senior defensive lineman Trey Larson and sophomore linebacker Hadley Mote.
Named to the Second Team on defense for the Bulldogs were Schoenvogel at defensive line and Hallmark at defensive back.
Marion All-District Honorable Mentions include offensive linemen Corben Perankovich and Keagan Taylor, tight end Diego Juarez, running back Christian Sanchez, linebackers Bryce Birdwell and Aidan Batey, defensive linemen Juarez and Weston Teboe and defensive back Garner.
On the Academic All District team are 24 players. They include Zylan Keicer, Gavin Soefje, Jace Camacho, Christian Sanchez, Kaiden Mair, Broc Birdwell, Kase Kelso, Micahel Purcell, Dillon Sanchez, Caden Hernandez, Dillyn Dehoyos, Stahl, Castellanos, Murdoch, Taylor, Mann, Larson, Juarez, Schoenvogel, Teboe, Garner, Birdwell, Perankovich, and Rios.
The Bulldogs were lead by 5th year head coach Ryne Miller.
