(Seguin) – The newest face to Seguin ISD’s Team of 8 is sworn in and ready to get to work. Just before ringing the dismissal bell for the Thanksgiving break, newly elected District 7 Trustee Josh Bright was administered the oath of office for his new seat on the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees.

Bright says he joins the board at one of its most critical times.

“I’m looking forward to the next four years and all the things that we are going to be able to accomplish especially with being able to pass Proposition A for the school bond. That’s going to be huge for us with some big responsibility for us as well. So, I’m looking forward to executing that and getting that bond spent and taking care of our kids and setting up a good school district for them in the future,” said Bright.

Bright says his priority remains on the children and their future.

“Just as I talked about during the campaign, my number responsibility is to the kids to make sure that they are set up for success upon graduation from high school because that is what the job is of the school. It’s to get them ready to be a positive contributing member of society whatever that might be and then also being a good steward of the taxpayer’s money and making sure their hard work is being used appropriately,” said Bright.

Bright defeated incumbent Glenda Moreno for the District 7 seat during the Nov. 8 General Election. Joining Bright for a new four-year term are returning Trustees Alejandro Guerra, District 2; Linda Duncan, District 4 and Denise Crettenden, District 5. All three single member races were unopposed during the school board election.
