SEGUIN, Texas — Tight End Aaron Sotelo (Castroville/Medina Valley) was named to the All-ASC First Team, highlighting seven Bulldogs to earn All-ASC honors, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Selections were made by the league’s head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.Three Bulldogs were named to the All-ASC Third Team: Quarterback Seth Cosme (Angleton/Angleton) and running backs Jacob Forton (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) and DaKory Willis (Flatonia/Flatonia). Three Bulldogs were also named All-ASC Honorable Mention.Sotelo, a senior from Castroville, earned All-ASC honors for the third year in a row. 2022 marks his first First Team honor, earning honorable mention honors in 2020-21 and third team honors last season. Sotelo finished the season with 49 receptions for 497 yards and eight touchdowns. Sotelo finished fourth in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) in receptions and touchdowns despite only playing in nine of the Bulldogs 10 games.

Cosme, a senior from Angleton, earns his third career all-conference honor starting all 10 games for the Bulldogs at quarterback. Cosme was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the country in 2022, finishing fourth in NCAA Division-III in completion percentage (.730). Cosme threw for 2,377 yards and 20 touchdowns while adding three rushing touchdowns on 57 yards rushing.

Forton, a junior from Spring Branch, earns his first career conference honors following a season that saw the running back rush for 506 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 332 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Forton led the American Southwest Conference in total touchdowns (13) and points (78) in 2022.

Willis, a junior from Flatonia, earned All-ASC Third Team honors at running back for the third year in a row. Willis finished second in rushing for Texas Lutheran with 383 yards and a touchdown. Willis finished the season with a career-high 144 yards receiving on 26 receptions.

A trio of Bulldogs also earned honorable mention recognition at their respective positions: kicker Joaquin Rodriguez (San Antonio/Smithson Valley), safety Mason Hardy (Flynn/Normangee), defensive back Khalen Wilkerson (Killeen/Ellison).

Junior Linebacker Caleb Giles (Houston/Lamar) was named to the ASC Outstanding Sportsman Team of the Year.

Texas Lutheran went 4-6 and 3-5 in the American Southwest Conference to finish 6th in the conference.
