(Geronimo) – Two incumbents and two newcomers ended up earning a seat on the Navarro ISD Board of Trustees. A total of eight candidates were vying for one of the four available spots on the school board.
Incumbents Donna Gilliam and Hank Dietert led the race as the top vote-getters. Gilliam earned 2,243 of the votes cast, while Dietert picked up 1,865 votes. Securing the next two available seats were Lacey Gosch with 1,483 votes and Dan Reinhard with 1,188 votes.
Gilliam says she is proud to serve the Navarro ISD and looks forward to another term in office.
“I just wanted to thank the voters of Navarro ISD for reelecting me to another four-year term. I look forward to continuing to serve and to be a voice for the district. Together with the other board members, I will continue to listen to the community and address the growth, safety and security, teacher morale, and pay and expanding programs for all students,” said Gilliam.
Dietert says he also thanks the voters for their support and looks forward to continuing his work on the school board.
“I’m very thrilled that the community has supported me and supported Donna as well, and the other candidates that want to be on the board. But I’m really happy to hear that they believed in us and supported us. And for me, it’s an honor,” said Dietert.
As for Reinhard, he says he is especially excited to serve the students, staff, and families of the Navarro ISD and is looking forward to this new experience.
“I’m very excited. It’s been a long, fun evening to watch it all happen, and I’m just excited to get in there and see what we can do, said Reinhard.
Comments from Gosch were unavailable following Tuesday night’s late results.
Rounding out the rest of the race in the Navarro ISD were the other four remaining candidates. They included Eric Monkerud with 1,163 votes, Dru Canion with 787 votes, SeanLuc Tubre with 731 votes, and Tank Malinovsky with 535 votes.
