This Week's Marion Football Game Moved Up One Day and Will Be Broadcast on KWED

(Marion) — Due to the threat of inclement weather, this week’s Marion Bulldog football game with Lulling has been moved from Friday night to Thursday night. The Bulldogs will host the Eagles on Thursday at Veterans Stadium in Marion.

Thursday’s contest is a virtual playoff game as the winner will move onto the Bi-District round next week while the loser will be left out of the playoffs. The winner of the Marion/Luling game will clinch third place in District 13-3A and play the winner of Friday’s Hondo/Poteet game out of District 14-3A in the playoffs next week.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: With the game change to Thursday, we will have the play-by-play of the Bulldogs and Eagles on KWED. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. We’ll have the Bulldog pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday from Veterans Stadium on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

The Seguin Matadors and Navarro Panthers are still scheduled to have their games on Friday night. Navarro hosts Manor New Tech and Seguin will be at Smithson Valley. Both the Panthers and Matadors have clinched playoff spots in their respective districts.

The Panthers finished as the 2nd seed in District 13-4A. They will face the 3rd seed from District 14-4A. Pearsall is currently in 3rd place in that district with one game remaining.

The Matadors will be 4th seed out of District 12-5A. They will play the champion of District 11-5A. A&M Consolidated, College Station and Georgetown are currently in a three-way tie for first place in that district with one game left to play. The Matadors game on Friday night can be heard on KWED.
