Early voting OFFICIALLY underway in Nov. 8 election

(Guadalupe County) — Voters will have up to 10 local ballot items to consider when they begin to head to the polls today for the start of early voting in the Nov. 8 General and Texas Gubernatorial Election. In addition to federal and state races, each Guadalupe County voter’s ballot will contain races for all the jurisdictions in which that voter is eligible to vote, based on the address at which they are registered.

That’s according to Guadalupe County Elections Administrator Lisa Hayes.

“The local entities within Guadalupe County which are holding elections on November 8 are the City of Seguin, City of Cibolo, the City of Schertz, the City of Universal City, Seguin ISD, Marion ISD, Navarro ISD, Prairie Lea ISD, Green Valley Special Utility District and Meadow Lake WCID No. 1.,” said Hayes.

To help inform voters, Hayes reminds them that sample ballots can easily be obtained on the election’s office website. She says those ballots or voter guides allow them to see in advance which races they’ll be considering at the polls. Plus, after marking them at home, the voter can bring those into the polling location to help make the voting process smoother.

“Sample ballots are available at both the Seguin and Schertz Elections Office, or on the Guadalupe County Elections Office website at www.co.guadalupe.tx.us/elections,” said Hayes.

Hayes says Guadalupe County voters are also reminded that they may also vote early at any one of the seven early voting locations throughout the county.
