(Seguin) – The five suspects wanted for a carjacking in the Seguin Walmart parking lot on Monday night have all now been identified. Not only do officials know who they are but each live in the Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area east of Houston.
Those suspects include Kendrick Hardwell Jr., 17, Port Arthur; Jy’Quez Turner, 17, of Port Arthur; Chase Shearin, 18, Port Neches; Caden Shearin, 19 of Port Neches) and a 16-year-old male juvenile of Grove.
Upon learning their identities, an arrest warrant for aggravated robbery was issued by State District Judge William Old for Hardwell, Turner, Chase Shearin, and Caden Shearin.
On Wednesday night, the Port Arthur Police Department apprehended Hardwell in Port Arthur. He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
Both the Shearin brothers were apprehended on Thursday and are now in custody. Turner remains at large.
According to police, officers just after 8:45 p.m. Monday were advised that five individuals had approached the victim’s Dodge Charger in the Walmart parking lot. They then removed the 16-year-old male driver and the 15-year-old female passenger from the vehicle, and began assaulting the driver. The five suspects then all left in the victim’s vehicle.
The driver was transported by Seguin EMS to a local hospital where he was treated and later released for his injuries.
Thanks to security cameras at the store, officers say images of the reported suspects were caught on tape making it easier to identify them.
Anyone having any information regarding the whereabouts of Turner or the juvenile are asked to contact the Seguin Police Department at 830-379-2123.
This case remains under investigation by the Seguin Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
