Live music & river fun unite!

Concert goers float on down to Gonzales County

(Gonzales) – What once was a weekend musical experience in Guadalupe County has now floated down the San Marcos River to Gonzales County.

Float Fest will again be returning its two-day festival experience this weekend to the Central Texas area — uniting live music with a fun river experience.

For years, the festival was hosted in Guadalupe County at Cool River Ranch, but Float Fest representative Viviana Garcia says they have since made the move to a ranch along County Road 197 for growth opportunities.

“Float Fest moved its location to its permanent home in Gonzales,” Garcia said. “The new location measures three times the size of the previous venue, which offers more camping options, floating accessibility, additional parking, and enhanced spaces for fans to enjoy the full Texas experience.”

This year’s event boasts a lineup of musical talent that includes popular performers such as Cage the Elephant, Chance the Rapper, Vampire Weekend, Marshmello, and Deadmau5, to name just a few.

But Garcia says the music isn’t the only thing attendees can look forward to.

“The New Float Fest Experience includes The Coca-Cola Ice-House, Topgolf simulators, a draft beer bar at tubing entry, and new food and art vendors,” Garcia said. “The Coca-Cola Ice House is a Texas-style watering hole serving up ice cold Coca-Cola and multiple elevated viewing decks that overlook the Coca-Cola stage. The Topgolf simulator is being hosted by Coca-Cola, featuring two cutting edge golf simulators located inside the VIP air-conditioned lounge. Attendees can also tube and enjoy the river as well as camp on-site.”

Garcia says the new location is nestled near the heart of Gonzales making the new location even more convenient for the hundreds of guests expected to attend this year’s concert.

“The event is conveniently located in Gonzales, TX which is one-hour from Austin and San Antonio and two-hours from Houston,” Garcia said. “The location is adjacent to the city center of Gonzales, providing access to grocery stores, retailers, hotels, restaurants, and more.”

With temperatures expected to be in the triple digits this coming weekend, Garcia says the concert is the perfect place for music lovers to cool down and encourages them to get their tickets as soon as possible.

Float Fest is set for this Saturday and Sunday. Those interested in attending the two-day festival can visit floatfest.net for lineups, directions, and to purchase tickets.
