Marie Taylor Forcey

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today


Marie Taylor Forcey was born May 6, 1932. She was the third eldest daughter born to Virgil and Bernice Taylor in Seguin, Texas. 

Mother Marie’s most rewarding homebase business was her children’s daycare service. She took care of several children for years in her home. The children and family gave her the nickname of “Nanny.” 

She accepted the Lord at an early age. She attended “New Birth Baptist Church in Nash Creek as a child. In her adult age she join Bethel Pentecostal Church in Seguin, Texas, under the leadership of the late Suffragan Bishop Elroy Smith. She continued to attend until her health failed. She resided in the Guadalupe Nursing Home Center until she transition to a much better life. 

Mother Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Bernice Taylor; her siblings, twin sisters, Lula Taylor and Louise Scott, and sisters, Annie Schuler and Clara Miller; and one granddaughter, Edwina Harris. 

Mother Marie leaves to mourn: her brother, Virgil Taylor, Jr., Susan Doxie (Robert), Wayne Forcey (Beverly), and Richard Forcey; grandchildren, Kia Harris, Rhonda Green (Damon), Joetta Doxie, Robert Doxie, Jr., Elton Doxie, Natash Lane (Robert), Candace Forcey, and Mycayla Forcey; great-grandchildren, Jeffery Thomas, Jr., Johnathan Jack (Keria), Josh Jack (Crystal), Tyshea Jack, Tyler Saunders, Tamara Green, Damon Green, Jr., Malachi Hayes, Logan Lane, and Elijah Johnson; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends, and other family members.
