New Braunfels, Seguin & Schertz team up for a Regional Job Fair this Thursday

(Seguin) – Need a job? Need a new place of employment?

The New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation (NBEDC), the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (Seguin EDC), and the Schertz Economic Development Corporation (Schertz EDC) are again excited to team for this year’s Regional Job Fair. The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Texas Lutheran University’s Jackson Park Student Activity Center.

The free event is set to feature approximately 35 employers – employers all ready to hire for immediate openings in a diverse range of job skills.

“Partnering with our surrounding communities is essential to raise awareness about the opportunities available throughout the region.” said Adrian Perez, executive director of the Schertz EDC. “We are happy to continue to work with Seguin and New Braunfels in joint workforce efforts.”

The EDC’s say job seekers can expect to find hundreds of openings in entry, intermediate and advanced-level positions in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, government, healthcare, education, retail, and more.

Job seekers are encouraged to arrive to the job fair in business casual attire with multiple copies of an updated resume in hand. They say many employers will be conducting on-site interviews and extending employment offers during job fair hours.

“Our region is hiring. At the last job fair held this past April, we had several of our participating employers fill their open positions with job fair attendees, said Josh Schneuker, executive director for the Seguin EDC. “With gas prices at an all-time high, this job fair provides the perfect opportunity for commuters to find a career closer to home. We strongly encourage attendees to show up prepared to be interviewed and quite possibly hired on the spot.”

According to a report released by the US Census Bureau, the average one-way commune in the United States was 27.6 minutes in 2019. Michele Boggs, vice president of economic development for the New Braunfels EDC says the regional job fair partnership between New Braunfels, Schertz, and Seguin, provides the participating employers with a unique opportunity to tap into that average drive-time to reach a larger pool of talented employee candidates.

“We have a number of great employers in attendance this year with open positions ranging from tech to manufacturing. This a wonderful opportunity for job seekers in the region to find a great long-term career,” said Boggs.

The TLU Jackson Park Student Activity Center is located at 824 Fleming Drive in Seguin.
