(Seguin) — A fiery crash on Interstate 10 over the weekend has claimed the lives of two individuals. Seguin Police officials say just after 6 p.m. Sunday, the Seguin Police Department and Seguin Fire Department responded to a fiery, fatal collision involving a single vehicle. A preliminary investigation revealed that a red Nissan 3ZR failed to stay in the lane while traveling west on IH-10, near mile marker 612.
Witnesses stated the driver of the Nissan lost control of the vehicle when attempting to change lanes, causing the vehicle to spin out, and ultimately strike a tree in the median. Seguin Police say witnesses attempted to help the two occupants; however, the vehicle quickly became engulfed in flames.
The driver was identified as Jade Hernandez, 24, of Dickinson. Identified as the passenger was Alfonso DelaRosa, 26, also of Dickinson.
Officials say the accident remains under investigation.
