(Seguin) – Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen is wanting the city to prepare what she says will be the largest and best fireworks show yet.
Dodgen says the fireworks display held the night before the official Fourth of July holiday will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will light up the night sky over Max Starcke Park.
“I want them to know that it’s going to be the best one ever and that each year, I want to try to improve that and we have done that by adding another sponsor this year and it’s the second year in a row that KWED is playing patriotic music – starting music at the same time which I think really adds to it and so I think every year, it gets better and better. With our community and the people participating, it gets bigger and bigger, and I love doing it on the night before simply because it’s not the night of the Fourth and I have to go to work the next day. Sorry but it’s a great thing,” said Dodgen.
This year’s Fireworks Fiesta sponsors include H-E-B, Teijin Automotive Technologies, and Niagara Bottling.

Just before the Sunday night fireworks, the city is also inviting the public to join it on Sunday at 7 p.m. for the final concert of its Summer Concert Series in the Park. This Sunday’s concert is the Patriotic Concert featuring the San Antonio Symphonic Band which will play a medley of patriotic tunes in Central Park. Lawn chairs and beverages of choice are encouraged.
