(Seguin) — If you are looking to enter a float in this year’s Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas, then Friday is your deadline. This year’s parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, July 4.

Kyle Kramm, the director of the Seguin Main Street Program and CVB, says his office is looking to finalize this year’s entry line-up and encourages folks to get their applications in as soon as possible.

“We are already over 100 entries. I think when I was in the office, we were at 102 and I think we had two more people walk in the door to drop off applications so definitely it’s going to be a larger parade again and so we anticipate another 30 applications to come in the rest of this week,” said Kramm.

He says the parade is open to anyone who wants to participate. He says it’s all about showing off your patriotic pride.

“Anyone can be in the parade and there is no cost to have an entry in the parade. So, we’ve got families who are having a celebration and so they are driving their classic vehicle in the parade, or we’ve got car groups and businesses and non-profits so it’s any organization can definitely have an entry,” said Kramm.

Kramm says the city this year is also expecting a few and new out of town guests.

“We’ve got a variety of entries again this year and a lot of new ones this year actually coming from San Antonio, New Braunfels, San Marcos all over the region and so we are glad to see that but there are still opportunities for people to get their float entries in. They just have to turn their application in to our office by the end of this week preferably and so that way we can get them all lined up and send out their confirmations early next week,” said Kramm.

Kramm says signing up is easy.

“It’s online. They can stop by our office. If they want to find it online, it’s at seguintexas.gov/fourthofjuly. They can also go to our Facebook page. We’ve had a few posts on our Facebook page with the link to the application and then our office — we have the application there and that’s 116 N. Camp St inside the chamber of commerce building,” said Kramm.

To view the parade, spectators are asked to sit along Austin Street between College Street and the Seguin Coliseum.

Again, the deadline to enter this year’s parade is Friday, June 24.
