Special by Myra Salinas, Main Street & CVB tourism assistant

(Seguin) — A local band out of Seguin and New Berlin, Texas, the Gabe Galvan Band, will grace the stage at the Central Park Summer Concert Series on Sunday, June 19th.

They play traditional country music from old dancehall standards like Ray Price and Marty Robbins to neotraditional sounds of George Strait and Randy Travis with a pedal steel guitar and fiddle always being present on the stage.

“We are in the process of recording our first album and plan on releasing it by the end of the year”, says manager, Gabriel Galvan, the band’s lead vocalist.

The band is managed and lead by Gabriel Galvan who plays a rhythm guitar, Mike Tschoepe is the drummer, Vernon Doege is on the steel guitar, Hayden Eppes is on the bass, and the fiddler is Nancy Doege.

“We are pleased to be bringing out another local band for out summer concert series,” said Kyle Kramm, Seguin Main Street & CVB Director, “We hope the community will come out to enjoy a nice evening in downtown Seguin listening to a great band.”

The concerts are on Sundays starting at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. The family-friendly concerts are free and offer something for almost every musical taste. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back, relax, and enjoy. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the rest of the concert series featuring Conjunto Cats on June 26 and the San Antonio Symphonic Band on July 3.

The concert series would not be possible without the support of the sponsors including Guadalupe County United Way, Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates, First United Bank, Guadalupe Printing Solutions, GVEC, Jack Walker CPA, PC, Sonka Guest House, TRC Companies, CMC Steel, Gift & Gourmet, Hexcel, and the Koehler Company. The Central Park Summer Concert Series is produced by the City of Seguin Main Street Program.
