(Marion) – The top students who led the Marion High School Class of 2022 are celebrating their hard work over the years.
Both Valedictorian Stacy Hartmann and Salutatorian Morgan Moltz successfully wrapped up their schools years with 120 other graduates this past Saturday at Veterans Stadium.
Hartmann says she is grateful for the opportunity to finish top of her class.
“I thought that all my hard work had finally paid off. I mean I’ve been working for this since, I mean it really started all the way back in elementary because I would always push myself to do my work and it just went with me all the way to high school,” said Hartmann.
Hartmann who has always led the class in school ranking says she now has the future to look forward to. As far as what that future entails, Hartmann says she too awaits the surprise.
“Right now, I’m just focused on going to college. I really don’t know what my future looks like at this point. I don’t have any set goals. I’m just going to take it as it comes,” said Hartmann.
Moltz says although Hartmann usually led the pack, she was always sure to work just as hard.
“I was really excited and I just kind of felt like this release that all this hard work that I’ve been putting into my school is finally paying off and I’m getting rewarded for it and I kind of expected it based on my grades but I was so excited. I remember jumping up and down when I figured it out,” said Moltz.
Moltz, the daughter of Tobie and Eric Moltz, plans to attend Texas State University in the fall where she will study wildlife biology. Her dream is to one day enter a career and in wildlife conservation.
In leading the Marion Class of 2022, Hartmann, the daughter of Valerie and Darvin Hartmann, wrapped up this year’s graduation speech with some advice. That advice included, “don’t settle for what you don’t deserve.”
Both Marion High School and Navarro High School held their graduation ceremonies over the weekend. Seguin High School graduates are set to walk the stage this Friday at Matador Stadium.
