Two killed on highway south of Seguin

(Seguin) – Two people were killed and two others injured following a head-on collision on State Highway 123 South.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers say the incident was reported just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday on 123, just south of Elm Creek.
Killed in the crash was Christopher Lee Commiato, 41, of Round Rock, and Crystal Commiato Martinez, 43, of Austin. Both were riding in an SUV with three other passengers.
The second vehicle involved was a Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by a man from Stockdale. The vehicle also had an 8-year-old passenger.

Both were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Their conditions have since been upgraded to stable. That’s according to DPS Sgt. Kenny Mata.
Mata says the investigation indicates that the SUV, which was headed southbound, veered across the lane into northbound traffic, striking the pickup truck head-on.
Investigation into the weekend crash continues.
