Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office still warning against scam

(Guadalupe County) – The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office is warning against giving money or personal information to a con artist impersonating himself as a deputy.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware that multiple persons in the area have received phone calls from someone claiming to be Deputy Logan Tucker of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.

While Logan Tucker is a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office, officials confirm that he did not make these calls.

Besides, they say it is not a standard procedure for any law enforcement agency to call residents and ask that they pay for a fee, warrant or other fines over the phone with gift cards or any kind of money transaction.

In this particular case, the caller states that the person has several warrants out for their arrest and should attempt to get them paid over the phone.

If anyone receives this type of call, they are asked to doubt the caller, hang up and call law enforcement. More importantly, they say do not give a payment or confirm any personal information over the phone.
