Marvin Jauer Soefje, Jr., age 83 of Seguin, passed away March 7, 2022. Marvin was born on August 6, 1938, in Seguin, Texas to Marvin Jauer Soefje Sr. and Elsie (Moffett) Soefje.
Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Soefje, son, Jeffrey Wayne Soefje, and his parents.
Survivors include daughter, Shannon Ann Soefje (Michael Bresnok); grandchildren, Jerimiah Jeffrey Bower (Melissa Suzanne Bower), Kenneth Blake Lehenbauer, Amanda Jean Soefje and Mathew Wayne Soefje; great-grandchildren; Hannah Brook Bower, Ava Jean Bower, Olivia Reed Bower, and Jerimiah Colt Bower.
Marvin was a truck driver and began driving for Structural Metals in Seguin. He left there and began business for himself in Oklahoma leasing his truck to H.J. Jeffries Truck Line. While driving, Marvin had the opportunity to go to Alaska to deliver equipment for the Alaskan Pipeline. Bobbie Jean was able to accompany him on some of the trips to Alaska. Marvin returned to Seguin and worked for Commercial Metals. He later retired from the company at the age of 70. Marvin and Bobbie Jean were huge fans of the Oklahoma University Sooners football team.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Perales officiating.
