Today marks last day for early voting

Today marks last day for early voting

(Seguin) – Today is the deadline to vote early. The two-week early voting period for the Tuesday, March 1 Republican and Democratic Primary Election ends today at 7 p.m.

Guadalupe County Elections Administrator Lisa Hayes says any registered voter in Guadalupe County may vote early at any one of the following locations. Those locations include the Seguin Elections Office; Cibolo Fire Station #2; Central Texas Technology Center; Redemptive Grace Ministries; New Berlin City Hall and the Schertz Elections Office Annex.

Hayes says the early voting process has so far been a smooth one.

“They’ve been doing great about having their photo ID with them and following the COVID protocols trying to keep everyone safe, and it’s been very smooth. It’s just been very busy. The voters are obviously excited about coming out and voting and we love to see that,” said Hayes.

Hayes today also reminds voters of a couple of things that they should be advised of whether they vote today or on election day.

“There is no electioneering allowed within 100 feet of the polls which means you can’t be wearing any campaign gear for anything that pertains to this election. So, no t-shirts, hats, buttons, and things like that. You can’t have your cell phone out in the polling place so those are the things that we ask the voters to keep in mind,” said Hayes.

The primary features the gubernatorial race along with a host of other statewide and county races.
