City of Seguin hires new assistant director of engineering

(Seguin) — The City of Seguin is pleased to announce that Mary Hamann has joined the Capital Projects and Engineering Department as its first assistant director of engineering. Hamman comes to the City of Seguin from the City of New Braunfels, where she spent five years as an engineer overseeing traffic and transportation-related projects.

Prior to her work in New Braunfels, Hamman served in a consulting role at AECOM/URS Corporation where she worked with manufacturing facilities to obtain and maintain compliance with air quality regulations.

“With the amount of significant growth that we are currently experiencing in Seguin, I am thrilled to have Mary in this key role,” said City Manager Steve Parker. “Her extensive professional engineering experience and knowledge of traffic/transportation impacts for future developments within the city will be a great benefit to Seguin and our citizens. The Engineering Department is also excited to have her on board as we look ahead to projects in 2022.”

Hamman is a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering and Master’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, both from Texas A&M University.
