(Seguin) — The three-day holiday celebration might be over in downtown Seguin, but its bragging rights and prestigious awards live on for the remainder of this year’s holiday season.
Thousands of people showed up for this year’s events which included Thursday’s Holiday Lighted Parade and Lighting Up of Central Park, Friday’s Cocoa Sip-N-Stroll, and Saturday’s North Pole Stroll.
The trio of events are put on each year by the city’s Main Street Program and the Parks and Recreation Department, as well as the Downtown Business Alliance.
This year’s parade winners include:
In the Commercial Category:
1st Place went to Jungle Jam Party and Play
2nd Place- Fantasy World Characters
3rd Place- City of Seguin Electric Department
In the Non-Commercial Category winners include
1st Place- Church of God Holiness
2nd Place- Seguin Jeepers
3rd Place- Guadalupe Agriculture Fair Queens
The Main Street Program has also announced its Cocoa Winners from Friday’s Sip-N-Stroll.
Best Milk Chocolate Cocoa: Crescent Dental & Orthodontics Seguin
Best White Chocolate Cocoa: Southern Good
Best Dark Chocolate Cocoa: You’re So Crafty
Most Unique Cocoa: The Shop at Design Associates
Most Creatively Named Cocoa: Southern Good
The winners of the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest were also announced.
1st Place- Flores Construction and its Sesame Street Big Bird Tree
2nd Place- Seguin Parrot Head Club and its Caribbean Christmas Tree
3rd Place- St. James Catholic School and its Recipe of Love Tree
Honorable Mention- Leap Ahead Learning and its Night at the Movie Tree
The Christmas trees will remain in place until after the New Year.
