(Guadalupe County) – A man remains in the hospital after being shot in his home early Saturday morning. Sgt. Kelly Mann, of the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, says Kurt Helfrich, 36, was shot by unknown suspects while inside his residence located in the 3100 block of Zion Hill Road.
The incident was reported just after 5:45 a.m. Mann says Helfrich was “transported to a San Antonio area trauma center for surgical treatment of a gunshot wound to his right lower extremity.” Mann says information regarding the suspects is unavailable currently. However, they say Helfrich “appears to be the target of attack, and not a random crime.” They say investigation into the shooting continues.
