TLU students load up their trunks tonight for some Halloween fun

(Seguin) — TLU is inviting ghosts and goblins over for a little pre-Halloween fun. However instead of opening the doors to its dorm rooms, students this year will be opening the trunks of their vehicles as they welcome families on campus for its Boo Bash: Trunk-or-Treat Extravaganza.

The free event will be held today on the Texas Lutheran University campus from 6 to 8 p.m.Ashlie Ford, TLU’s director of marketing and communications, says for years, students have invited trick or treaters into their buildings but this year, students are changing things up to ensure the safety of all.

“Boo Bash is one of those community events that is led by Residence Life and students in our South Halls (Dorms) and it’s something that they look forward to every year and we weren’t able to unfortunately host it in 2020 so this year, I know they are really excited to be able to have local families and children on campus again and also kind of revamp it with the Trunk or Treat Extravaganza that they are hosting so we can have everybody on our campus again and still be  safe,” said Ford.

Ford says each year, approximately 1,200 pieces of candy are given away to the hundreds of little ghosts and goblins who participate. She says to make things easy, families will want to arrive on the south end of the campus located off of West Court Street.

“The event is actually going to take place in the Tschoepe Hall parking lot and the line for the event will begin at a check-in table at the stairs of the Moody Science building which is just south of the Clifton Hall and the line will then extend around the building to keep people in the shade as much as possible and it looks like the weather is going to be great so we are hoping that that is not going to be an issue and that it will be really nice weather for families andchildren to wait as they can go through the trunk or treat line,” said Ford.

Parking for Boo Bash will be available anywhere throughout the campus.
