(Seguin) — A 90-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck while walking into the Seguin Walmart store. Lt. Lance Wright with the Seguin Police Department says the woman was reportedly walking into the store pushing a shopping cart when she was struck by a truck being driven by a 54-year-old man.
The accident was reported just after 3 p.m. Monday. According to Wright, the man was parked alongside the store’s front entrance eating his lunch in his Chevrolet Silverado. After he was done, the man reportedly began to move forward in the vehicle striking the elderly woman. Wright reports the driver was going at “a very slow rate of speed” when the incident happened.
The woman was transported to Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle where she remains in the intensive care unit. Wright says no charges are expected to be filed in the case.
